Equipment Lists - option to copy selected lines on a list to be pasted into an Inventory Book Alias definition [5,270]
If you want to recreate a core list of equipment that you regularly put together for particular events you might want to create an Alias for this in the Inventory Book. This can be tedious to key in if there is lots of kit, so for the 271.1 release of HireTrack NX we have introduced the option of being able to copy selected lines on an Equipment List and then paste this into an Alias.
Inventory Book - Stock Management, Stocklevels page. Selected warehouse now defaults to logged in warehouse for user [5,295]
Job Narratives - Mulitple narratives, categorised by "Area" and linked to Job Types now supported [5,171]
Job Narratives and the templates that users can choose from can now configured to support specific "areas" of a job, and each "area" is represented by it's own sub-page on the Narratives tab. This allows you to nuance your reports to have specific "areas" appear at particular points in the output.

Smooth Scrolling in Grids - all grids with nested levels, e.g. equipment list now use a single scrollbar to navigate through [5,276]
So rather than an outer scrollbar for scrolling sections and an inner scrollbar for scrolling within a Section, there is just one scrollbar to handle everything. This scrolling mode is known as "Smooth Scrolling".
For users who was to continue to use "Classic Scrolling" (nested scrollbars), go to My HireTrack and tick the "Use Classic Scrollbars In Grids" option.
Subhires - In the popup allocator window show the Section title of the equipment lines to subhire against in the upper grid [5,290]
If you have an eqlist with 5 sections, say Main Hall, Breakout1, Breakout2, Breakout3 and Gala Dinner - and you only own 2 dimmers and you want to put them in the Gala Dinner Section and the Main Hall you will be able to target these now in the allocation window

Sales Orders with a List Mode set to 'Purchase linked rental equipment (only predicts rental availability)' can fall outside the scope of the Gantt chart date range ( Sales Order receive in Date is in the future but before the Rental list that the user is drilling down on; so it's not possible to see the Sales Orders in the Gantt that are contributing to the availability of the rental type. An option to "Purchase linked rental equipment (only predicts rental availability)" in the Gantt allows the user to see the availability if Sales Order stock level predications are ignored.
Config Book - Feature Groups. Simplify access rights options for areas where ON or OFF only applies [5,066]
Create/Edit/Read Only drop down editors for feature areas where these nuances are not implemented are now changed to standard checkboxes, with the feature either on or off for the specified Feature Group. Less confusing for user and representative of how the program actually works.

Users have reported that if a job has many Roles (rows on the spreadsheet user interface) then editing or creating just a single shift can take a long time to process. The code logic for this now speeds this up significantly

Also, when toggled back to the current view, order the display of the rental lists so that they appear immediately under the subhire that is supplying them.
General Returns - Traffic light indicators added so that users know if a Return / Check In is complete [4,835]
Inventory Book - Audit Page. Option to batch dispose of barcoded items by importing from a text file. [4,949]
So a list of barcodes that are no longer needed can be exported from the Stock Check facility or a QBE etc and then imported for batch disposal.
The disposal process traps any issues and errors with the items and so only those items that can be disposed of will be. A full, user friendly report on any issues found during the analysis and disposal is presented to the user at the end, with more export options. Finally, the entire process can be undone as it it logged with notes and user ID should the wrong list of barcodes be imported or for any other reason

If editing of this type is applicable (e.g. it's NOT a composite) then the user can now freely toggle between Owned, Consigned and Floating and behind the scene the audit trail and all the links back to the Item.nx1 table will created in accordance with the appropriate logic for the Barcode Type, taking into account what it was before and what it has become. A log of the action and the date it occurred is also written to the Item.Notes field, and the Audit Reference also logs the transformation action.

If running in either of these environments HireTrack NX will no longer store its cached lookup table data in memory, but instead will page to disk. This can potentially save hundreds of megabytes of memory usage and if many users are running on an application server then the saving can run to gigabytes. The small overhead in using a page file is vastly outweighed by the gains in overall performance across the system and reduces the need to purchase extra memory to cope with busy periods. If any significant unanticipated performance reduction is experienced this option can turned off by System Admins via the Help & Support page.

Although useful in many circumstances the default of "Target Scanning" being on all the time can result in barcodes being assigned to the wrong composite case when Auto RoadCase handling has resulted in a composite roadcase being split on the prep note. Turing off "Target Scanning" means that the scan engine alone is responsible for assigning the component barcode to the correct composite case.
Prep Note - when Case IDs are manually created then scanning to line that needs a new case, e.g. a split gives better feedback [5,037]
This short-circuits the need to subhire in to the donor warehouse in order to then go on to donate the subhired stock to the virtual warehouse (VW). Greater clarity and more direct.
These Global Subhires appear in the Warehouse book with appropriate labelling to indicate that they are supplying a VW

Subhire Allocations - the Quantity that can be allocated to multiple Rentals is no longer cumulative taking returns into account [4,828]
Now a 3 month subhire can be allocated to many more rentals as the date range of the rentals are used to determine if the Qty allocated is back in time to allow a Qty to be allocated to another rental. More useful for Global Subhires, but applies to Job Subhires too.
Subhires - "Hide Fully Allocated Shortages Indications" checkbox result in short lines NOT being red if they are fully allocated [4,832]
Even though the availability figure is global to the entire list, if a line is fully subhired then it can't be short and the is no need to draw attention to it, allowing the user to focus on other shortgages

Sales Orders For Rentals - List Mode menu now has options to either predict Sales or Rental Availablity [4,937]
The release of 269 introduced an improvement to the availability checking algorithm whereby Rental Lists starting after a scheduled Sales Order for buying Rental Equipment would use the predicted purchase quantities in calculating availability, with the Sales Order itself just showing stocklevels for availability. This may not suit all users, depending on how they schedule their purchases so the List Mode menu now has two options:

Working Set RAM now excludes Shared memory, e.g. dll usage that Windows or other apps use
Virtual RAM, i.e. the absolute demand that NX makes on memory, regardless of whether all of that is in physical RAM is now displayed. If Virtual RAM is significantly higher than Private then HireTrack NX doesn't have enough memory available to it for optimum performance.

Date formats - Users can now specify a Regional Date Format to determine how dates are displayed within HireTrack NX [4,628]
If HireTrack NX is being supplied to users via a "cloud service" then, until now, users in different regions would see dates represented in the format for the Region (e.g. United States) that the cloud or RDP server has configured.
The "My HireTrack" and "Configuration Book | Users" forms now each user to be assigned their own Windows "region" to control the display format of dates.

The new Enhanced crewing provides a familiar ‘Spreadsheet’ type editor utilizing the standard spreadsheet controls like drag fill, copy, paste and multiple cell selecting allow the fastest possible way to provision crewing for the job.
The system is based around a cell being a shift – with each shift offering detailed breakdowns for Crew Pay, Crew Charges, Expenses and Accommodation options.
The spreadsheet layout is further enhanced by adding inbuilt editors for shift related information such as crew positions, crew selection, contact management and ordering.
Whilst each job can be handled through its own interface in the job book, A global editor is available that allows the booking of crew across multiple jobs and the ability to see what work is outstanding for each job.
In addition, a Calendar style display is provided to view a personal perspective for jobs and tasks.

A third import option, "Sales List Prices" has been added to this module. It allows you to import regular price list updates from your manufacturers/suppliers. The facility uses the MPN and Manufacturer's name to locate Inventory Sales types and update them with your buy in price and you charge on price; and because it doesn't depend on the Description in HireTrack there is an option to update your Type Descriptions from the import sheet (in CSV format that can be edited in Excel) should your Manufacturer have renamed them.
The facility also contains options to Delete/Retire obsolete Sales Types or generate a Standard Inventory Import Sheet from your Sales Import Sheet should the latter contain new lines that are not currently in HireTrack NX.

On Return notes it is now possible to scan back a component barcode before it's master barcode is back (scanned). Additionally, a component barcode can be reverse scanned (removed) after the master barcode has been scanned. This sets special flags against the items that can be viewed in the new editor interface for composite barcodes in the Inventory Book. This editor can also be used to "detach" a barcode from it's master so that it can go out on job independently without completely losing the link, allowing it to be reinstated when its back from other duties

Config Book - New Active Directory Wizard to import AD users' credentials in to HireTrack NX [3,656]
If your company uses Microsoft Active Directory when users log onto their computers, certain user information can be imported from AD to HTNX and user credentials can be dynamically linked between the two.
When raising a credit or cancellation note, you will now be asked if you want to fully credit the original Invoice / Order. If you click 'Yes' the wizard will auto-populate the Credit Now field for the full amount. If you click 'No' you can enter the desired amount (in the same way as you did before this update).
If there were errors when trying to collect Incoming Email from your mailbox, you will now see a notification when you login.
It is now possible to give a user 'Read Only' access to the Equipment List Editor.
